Hi Baba and Mama Jessica,
How are you? I hope you are surviving your time away from your daughter.
She is doing really well. I really appreciate her attitude and willingness to do whatever.
Keep praying for her especially next week as sh will have to teach classes
through a translator.
I have a funny story to share with you:
We were in town on Tues. While looking for clothes they guys in one of the
booths started asking Barb Sherman and me if Jessica was married. We said,
"No." So the ladies at the booth we were at started to explain that they
were looking for fiances and wondered if she was interested.
This is a common thing around here. They want to marry a white girl and get
rich quick. I asked them how they could marry someone they couldn't even talk to. They quickly replied that she'd learn (nothing about them learning English, but only about her learning Swahili!) We told them that wasn't possible.
I figured you all would like to know that she has had her first marriage
proposal. She never talked to the guys and can't even tell you their names!
So don't worry too much Dave, I'm sure she won't come back with a cheap
Nike ring on her finger! Take care and thanks for sending Jessica here
