This week were heading over the Mtns. to the Rukwa Valley to the village of Kapenta June 30-July 4:
This week we're off to the village of Kazila. June 23-27:
We had a great week at camp in Ilambila, after our adventures home we got some much needed rest. We went back into Sumbawanga for more supplies and then it was off Monday afternoon for the 1 1/2 hr trip to the village of Kazila to get set up for this weeks camp.
This weeks camp is in Ilambila June 16-20:
We traveled from Brooks (just outside of Sumbawanga) to the village of Ilambila, where we will spend the week then its back to Brooks for the weekend to prepare for next weeks camp.
After a good nights sleep in Dar Es Salaam we were up at 5:00am to catch the 6:00am bus heading for Mbeya. The bus ride was about 13 hrs long across the Tanzanian country side (as you can see on the map). We were able to meet up with Brook once we got to Mbeya. We will be spending the night here (5-31) and leaving first thing in the morning for Mumba a 4-5 hr car ride to where Brook lives...about an hour out side of Sumbawanga.

HABARI EVERYONE! ( thats hello in swahili )
Just wanted to let everyone know we actually got a phone call from Jess today. Wooohooo!
She called to wish me a Happy Fathers Day, it's the best gift I've ever got. She is doing great and packing for camp even as I'm writing this. They will be leaving out at 10am in the morning (that'll be 3am for us). Asante (thank you) for all your prayers, it will be a long week for her with allot of adjusting to the food she will have to eat in the villages. They will travel back to Brooks for the weekend and then it will be off to the next village...make sure you read her latest emails (on the left) she has a big responsibility for giving the gospel over the next few weeks...please keep praying that God will give her strength & wisdom as she overcomes the language barrier and shares His love with them.
