This week were heading over the Mtns. to the Rukwa Valley to the village of Kapenta June 30-July 4:

This week we're off to the village of Kazila. June 23-27:

We had a great week at camp in Ilambila, after our adventures home we got some much needed rest. We went back into Sumbawanga for more supplies and then it was off Monday afternoon for the 1 1/2 hr trip to the village of Kazila to get set up for this weeks camp.

This weeks camp is in Ilambila June 16-20:

We traveled from Brooks (just outside of Sumbawanga) to the village of Ilambila, where we will spend the week then its back to Brooks for the weekend to prepare for next weeks camp.
After a good nights sleep in Dar Es Salaam we were up at 5:00am to catch the 6:00am bus heading for Mbeya. The bus ride was about 13 hrs long across the Tanzanian country side (as you can see on the map). We were able to meet up with Brook once we got to Mbeya. We will be spending the night here (5-31) and leaving first thing in the morning for Mumba a 4-5 hr car ride to where Brook lives...about an hour out side of Sumbawanga.

A last minute email before we head out...

Hey its Monday at 2:22 and we are leaving around 3:30 ish to go down to the valley. its gonna be really hot down there so im gonna be goin through allot of water lol we are staying in Ted and Kims guest house (they are missionaries and they have a really cool set up. they do evangelism but Ted has an agriculture and aquiculture thing that he does to teach them how they can do all that stuff on their on own and be self sufficient. it sounds really cool I cant wait to see his set up!! :)) but any way, this week is when well see the scorpions, and maybe some of the Mosai tribe:) I have been writing in my journal everyday, although its been hard during camp so sometimes I just write the bigger things that happen then at home I write everything that we do and what we eat for meals and all that! itll be cool I think. weren’t those directions great!! I thought the same thing...I thought directions back home were funny, but nothin beats African directions lol I did have a dream not to long after i got here that I went home every weekend then came back lol ...that would be expensive lol thats cool that you saw Kelly! I miss all those guys... if you see her again tell her I said hey! ..please! Im pretty sure itll only be an hour or two to Kapenta and I do believe that we will go over the mountains but Ill let you know for sure this weekend lol I got all your guys' mail Sunday. Steve was in town sat. so he picked it up for us so that we could get home cuase I wasn’t feeling good. so I dont know whos I got first, but I did by far get more from Josh lol Brook was jealous cause she doesnt even get that much in a year lol but it made me happy to get it all...and that Im the little blue kid on the zebra:) I got one from grandma... she asked were the pic of me and Steph was taken so I think you can answer that cause I didnt kno there was a pic of us lol I was thinkin you could go to Brooks blog and get pics off hers...if you haven’t already. cause she has our staff pic on there and all that. so now we are thinking that it wasn’t the goat that made me sick b/c Stepf got sick sat. night and it was the same as me and Brook remembered that for supper they ran out of filtered water and had to use river water, so that coulda been it. Barb ( a missionary here) is a nurse and she looked it up and said that it could take 6-24 hours to affect you and we ate around 8pm and I got sick at 3am, so thats a goo possibility, but im still gonna be cautious about the goat lol Josh told me in his letter that his buddy got to shoot a cow! thats hilarious! and that he caught the siding on fire with a grill....city folk...lol Cayla drew me the cutest pictures, I cant wait to show them to you:) but yeah, I figured it was either Venus or Saturn and thats what Brook thought to, but i think its brighter than Venus would be right now, but who knows… we was just wondering cause me and her was telling some people about the constellations and stuff… they have a southern cross here but Brook said she cant find it in the states...so im gonna look for it when I get home lol ...its in the south if you were wondering lol jk I thought the Puerto Rico people already left, but apparently not lol I thought it was like the 11th they left...anyway, I hope they have a good trip! I cant wait to see your shoes dad:) but I guess Im gonna go now cause we are gettin ready to leave. I got to write thank you notes to the counselors in Swahili!! how cool is that! Jericho is here right now and he is making everyone laugh lol mama Stewadi is crackin up in the kitchen its so funny, me and her are good together cause when she laughs she touches whoever is closest to her lol shes an awesome lady! I love her to death. well I guess Im gonna go now so ill write you Saturday. have a great week and I love you guys and I miss you! oh and by the way the letters you sent on June 2nd got to Dar on the 12th and then got here about a week later. so it does take about 2 weeks. so dont send anymore or else I wont get em’ lol anyway Ill talk to you later, stay safe and I LOVE YOU!!

Ok...I think I may have figured this "sending you comments" thing. For the longest time I have been trying to send you comments but for some reason it wasn't lettin me. But now I am sending it two or three times and it says one of em is going through. Im sure david will delete em if you get more than one. =) You gotta bring me back some of the money from over there if you can. I think that is cool...or a rock or something. I think it would be cool to have a real African rock that you picked up. (make sure there are no scorpions under it!!!) lol. I love reading your web page, it makes me feel like your a little closer. We pray for you every night!
Ok...another little update. Neashall is 1.5 cm dialated and 75% effaced. In other words she could deliver today or three or four weeks from now. Im trying to talk the baby into waiting for you but no promises.
And as far as the torchin the siding on the house, I blame Neashall so dont "city folk" me. =) Nevermind...I'm retarded and I know it...runs in the family. =)

Love you!!!

Hi Jess,
Just read your web page. Love reading about your experiences. I downloaded your web page onto our laptop and took it home so Grandpa could read it. We're counting the days till you get home. We love you and miss you soooooo much. I'm sorry you didn't get to see a scorpion, not. Hope you have fun on your safari and get to see lots of wild animals. You are amazing Jessica. You should write a book about your experiences. We can't wait till you get home to tell us all about them. Love you and may God be with you this week and on the journey home to all of us.
