This week were heading over the Mtns. to the Rukwa Valley to the village of Kapenta June 30-July 4:

This week we're off to the village of Kazila. June 23-27:

We had a great week at camp in Ilambila, after our adventures home we got some much needed rest. We went back into Sumbawanga for more supplies and then it was off Monday afternoon for the 1 1/2 hr trip to the village of Kazila to get set up for this weeks camp.

This weeks camp is in Ilambila June 16-20:

We traveled from Brooks (just outside of Sumbawanga) to the village of Ilambila, where we will spend the week then its back to Brooks for the weekend to prepare for next weeks camp.
After a good nights sleep in Dar Es Salaam we were up at 5:00am to catch the 6:00am bus heading for Mbeya. The bus ride was about 13 hrs long across the Tanzanian country side (as you can see on the map). We were able to meet up with Brook once we got to Mbeya. We will be spending the night here (5-31) and leaving first thing in the morning for Mumba a 4-5 hr car ride to where Brook lives...about an hour out side of Sumbawanga.

My Trip

Once we arrive in Tanzania, which should be May 31st, we will be having staff training for the first week of June. Then for the next three weeks we will be doing summer camps, going to 3 different villages in the area. Each camp will last a week, and I will be helping teach the guys about electricity, so that they can have lights for their evening meals and be able to hook up their instruments to play music during the Worship. I will also be teaching the girls to sew covers for their Bibles. There will also be daily worship, meals, different seminars to attend and of course games to play! After all the camps are completed, we are gonna help in an orphanage for a few days, and I'm really excited about that! Then we are gonna have some fun, and go on a safari, spend a day at the beach and then go shopping in the village! Then we will head back to the airport to start flying back home.
